Frequently Asked Questions
UV Gel Systems

EnglishSpanishPerfect Match English

Q. Why is the gel lifting at the corners of the free-edge?
A. You have to remove all the shine from the tip. For natural nails, make sure to remove all the shine completely from right and left side of entire free-edge so that the gel can grab and hold better. Also capping the free-edge will help prevent lifting there.
Q Why after 3 min. in the UV light the nails are sticky or look dull?
A. You should spray the nails and saturate wipe with the Gel Cleanser to remove the tacky residue. Nails look dull may be result from improper cleansing. Make sure to have enough Gel Cleanser to saturate the wipe and spray down each nails. Apply enough pressure and wipe down the entire nail area. Use a new nail wipe for each hand. A wipe with too much gel on it may cause dulling.
Q. What if the gel is not setting after 3 min. in the UV light?
A. You might want to first check the watt of your bulb; our products will cure with a 9watt bulb UV light. Numbers of bulb depend how big the light. Or your light bulb might just need to be replaced, we suggest about every 6-9 months depending on how much you use it.
Q. When I apply two coats of Pro.Tec the nails start to crack, what am I doing wrong?
A. Pro.Tec is a gel top for acrylic and only requires one coat that should cure for 3 minutes.
Q. Can I use acetone or alcohol to clean the nails?
A. No, acetone or alcohol alone will not fully remove gel residue, our Gel Cleanser is specially designed to be used with our products.

Q. After I’m all finished, my client’s nails will start to lift from the cuticle area or peel
within a few days,
what is the problem?

A. 1. You want to make sure before you apply the Gel Top that you file and taper around the cuticle. Too much product around the cuticle can cause lifting. Also make sure your leaving some space between the Base Gel and the cuticle area, about 1/8 of an inch for the Top Coat Gel to go over or above the Base and powder layer. This will ensure a better and proper seal and prevent lifting. 2. Use Gel Primer sparingly on the natural nail bed and allow it to dry chalky white. 3. Check your UV light. 4. Make sure to spray hands with Gel Cleanser and wipe all nails before product applications. 5. Remove all ptyergium and nail plate need to be clean. 6. Chronic medications can cause a client who previously has had no such problem. 7. If needed, give client a dried manicure/pedicure before Gel applications. 8. When applying the first layer of gel directly to natural nail bed, make sure to brush more strokes and put more pressure on brush to allow gel to absorb and bond properly to nail plate.
Q. Can I use acrylic powder instead?
A. No, it is recommended that our Powder Gel is to use with our Gel Base for proper adhesion. We do not guarantee results if you use any other powder.
Q. I am having problems with the nails cracking or breaking at the stress area, what am I doing wrong?
A. First, make sure your tips fit properly on the client’s finger. Be sure to brush the gel out to the right and left of free-edge when applying your layers and hold the finger level rather than tilted down so that the powder can absorb into the free-edge and help provide that strength. Second, there is lack of support of gel from stress area. You probably did not use enough gel in the stress area of the nail where the arch should be, try building the gel up in the stress area by slightly wetting the nail first with Base Gel then adding a drop of Base Gel to the wet area only. Add powder then cure for another 1 minute.
Q. The Gel will not level out, what should I do?
A. Cold weather will get gel thicker and maybe hard to work with, try placing the bottle under table lamp or in some warm water to loosen it up and try again. Room temperature will keep gel at proper consistency.
Q. The gel is too runny, what should I do?
A. Hot weather or temperature will make gel more loosen. Place gel in cold area or allow it to stand at room temperature for a few minutes until it reaches the proper consistency for you to work with comfortably.
Q. Why are bubbles in the finished nail?
A. You may have overworked the brush when remove the access Gel back and worth from the neck of bottle or repeated dipping of the brush back in the bottle. If bubbles appear on nail surface, just lightly re-brush that area or dap with pressure using the tip of the brush directly to the bubble to break it before placing into the UV light.
Q. Will they turn yellow if I tan?
A. Some tanning products will turn the Gel yellow if left on the nail while tanning, after applying your tanning solution use a wet wipe to remove any from the nail.
Q. What about skin irritation?
A. Keep all Gels and primers off the skin, if Gel runs over onto the skin wipe off immediately. If irritation continues discontinue use.
Q. I see pitting sometimes when I use Pro.Tec or after complete my Gel top (red bottle) application.
A. First, make sure the nail is clear of particles, clean and wipe nails with Gel Cleanser using lint-free wipes. Do not apply cuticle oil prior to gel application. Next apply one layer of Pro.Tec to the entire nail, not too thin, enough for the brush to glide smoothly, then cure for 3 full minutes.
For Gel Top Applications, see Powder Gel step by step instruction
Q. What should I use to clean my gel brush?
A. Wipe excess gel off gel brush using a lint-free wipe wet with Gel Cleanser or Gel Brush Cleaner Solution after each use.
Q. Why my nail is shatter when using clear tips?
A. Make sure never spray Gel Cleanser directly to nails when using clear tips. Saturate wipe to clean off tacky residue or nail plate.
